Judiciary Mourns the Loss of Retired Judge Joseph Wayne Wolfenbarger

Former Grainger County General Sessions and Juvenile Court Judge Joseph Wayne Wolfenbarger died on Jan. 7 at his home in Bean Station at the age of 77. 

Judge Wolfenbarger served the people of Grainger County for 32 years from the bench. He joined the Tennessee bar in 1966, after having graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law. 

Among others, he is surived by his son Judge Lane Wolfenbarger. Judge Lane Wolfenbarger won election to his father's previous position on the Grainger County General Sessions and Juvenile Court bench in 2014. 

Judge Wolfenbarger was a member of Rutledge Baptist Church and loved hunting, fishing, sports and spending time with family and friends.
