Justice Page Plans Investiture Ceremony in Mifflin

Governor Bill Haslam will ceremoniously administer the oath of office tonewly appointed and confirmed Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Roger A. Page on Monday, April 25 in Mifflin, the community in Chester County where he was raised.

Justice Page’s parents have lived in Mifflin since 1954. He was educated in Chester County schools and graduated from Chester County High School.  The ceremony will take place less than one-half mile from his family’s farm.

“I am honored that my investiture is in Mifflin,” Justice Page said.  “The people of Mifflin have supported me for as long as I can remember.  There is no better place on the face of the earth.”

The ceremony will start at 2 p.m. at the Mifflin Community Mall.  For directional purposes, the ceremony can be located at 5330 Clifford Road, Luray, Tenn.

Justice Page was appointed by Governor Haslam on January 7 and confirmed in a unanimous vote by the Tennessee General Assembly on February 22.  He began work as a Tennessee Supreme Court justice the next day.

Justice Page resides in Medina. He is married to Chancellor Carol McCoy and has two sons and three grandchildren. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy and the University of Memphis College of Law. Prior to being elected to the circuit court bench, he was a law clerk, an attorney in private practice, and an assistant attorney general.  He served as a 26th Judicial District Circuit Court judge from 1998-2011, and served on the Court of Criminal Appeals from 2011 until his confirmation to the Tennessee Supreme Court in February.
