Judge Franks honored for decades of service to judiciary

Members of the judiciary and legal profession honored Judge Herschel P. Franks for his years of service to the state judiciary.

Supreme Court Justice Sharon. G. Lee presented a plaque to Judge Franks, who is retiring at the end of the year. Judge Franks has served for more than 42 years, most recently sitting on the Court of Appeals for Tennessee’s Eastern Section.

Judge Franks has earned many honors, including being awarded the Tennessee Bar Association’s Justice Frank F. Drowota, III., Outstanding Judicial Service Award in June 2009

Christopher Clem, Vice Chair of the Judicial Nominating Committee also participated in the ceremony.

The Judicial Nominating Committee was meeting in Chattanooga Friday, November 16 to interview candidates for Judge Frank’s replacement.
