Find a Court Interpreter

The interpreter roster provides contact information for individuals who have met the qualifications to serve as certified or registered court interpreters in the State of Tennessee. This roster is intended to help courts and legal agencies identify qualified freelance court interpreters. Please note that interpreters listed here are not employees of the State of Tennessee.

• Certified Interpreters have successfully passed all required examinations and met the standards established by the state.
• Registered Interpreters have fulfilled certain eligibility requirements but have not yet completed the final certification exam.

When appointing an interpreter, the court shall follow the preference order below:

1. State Certified Court Interpreter
2. State Registered Court Interpreter
3. Non-Credentialed Court Interpreter

If no interpreters are listed in your county, we recommend checking neighboring counties. If no interpreters are available for the language you need, please contact the Administrative Office of the Courts at (615) 741-2687 or email Ryan.Mouser@tncourts.gov for assistance.
