The Plaintiff files suit to challenge Tennessee's voluntary manslaughter statute, Tenn. Code Ann. 39- 13-211, on the grounds that it is unconstitutionally vague under the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of the United States Constitution and Article of the Tennessee Constitution. 

Plaintiffs filed suit to challenge the constitutionality of Tennessee Senate Bill 6002 (SB 6002), effective July 1, 2025, which amends Tenn. Code Ann. § 7-3-101 et seq. to criminalize as a Class E felony any local government official’s vote for a “sanctuary policy” impeding federal immigration enforcement.
