Commission Sends Three Names to Governor for 21st Judicial District Circuit Court Opening – Hickman, Lewis, Perry and Williamson Counties

The Trial Court Vacancy Commission met today, Tuesday, August 7, 2018 to consider five candidates for the Circuit Court vacancy in the 21st Judicial District – Hickman, Lewis, Perry and Williamson Counties. Terry R. Malone notified the Commission on August 6, 2018 that he had withdrawn his name for consideration.

The new judicial position was created by Chapter 974 of the Public Acts of 2018 and is effective September 1, 2018.

After holding a public hearing and conducting public interviews, the Commission selected the following nominees:

Melanie Totty Cagle - Centerville
Stacey Brackeen Edmonson – Spring Hill
Michael Everett Spitzer - Hohenwald

The Commission has forwarded the names to Governor Bill Haslam for his consideration.
