Commission Accepting Applications for Vacancy in 24th Judicial District Chancery Court - Benton, Carroll, Decatur, Hardin, and Henry Counties

The Governor’s Commission for Judicial Appointments is now accepting applications for the chancellor vacancy in the 24th Judicial District Chancery Court (Benton, Carroll, Decatur, Hardin, and Henry counties). The vacancy was created by the death of the Honorable Ron E. Harmon.

Any interested applicant must be a licensed attorney who is at least 30 years of age, a resident of the state for five years, and a resident of the 24th Judicial District. Applicants must complete the designated application, which is available here and submit it to the Administrative Office of the Courts by Friday, January 17, 2014 at noon CST.

The Governor’s Commission for Judicial Appointments will interview all qualified applicants on January 23rd in the 24th Judicial District at Bethel University, 325 Cherry Ave, McKenzie, TN 38201. The meeting will include a public hearing at 9 a.m. during which members of the public may express their opinions about the applicants. The interview, public hearing and deliberation process will be open to the public.
