Four Apply for 30th Judicial District Criminal Court Opening - Shelby County

The Trial Court Vacancy Commission will consider four applicants when it meets on Monday, November 6, 2017 in Memphis to select nominees for the Criminal Court vacancy in the 30th Judicial District – Shelby County. The vacancy was created by The Honorable James C. Beasley, Jr. who informed the Governor that he will retire effective December 31, 2017.

The applicants are:

Dean DeCandia – Memphis
Robert Harris – Germantown
Jennifer J. Mitchell - Memphis
Jennifer S. Nichols – Memphis

The Trial Court Vacancy Commission will interview the applicants on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Marriott Memphis East, 5795 Poplar Avenue, Memphis 38119.

The meeting will include a public hearing starting at 9 a.m. CST, during which anyone may express their opinions in opposition to the applicants.

The Commission is expected to vote immediately following the interviews and forward three names to Governor Bill Haslam for his consideration.
