Knoxville Bar Honors Supreme Court; Court Recognizes Pro Bono Work

All five Tennessee justices were honored at the annual Knoxville Bar Association Supreme Court Dinner.

The Court recognized 54 attorneys from the Knoxville area on the Attorney for Justice Pro Bono Honor Roll as well as 70 law students from University of Tennessee College of Law and Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law that were named Law Student for Justice.

To be named to one of these lists, attorneys must provide at least 50 hours of service annually. The program acknowledges students at Tennessee law schools who perform 50 or more hours of pro bono work during their law school career as a Law Student for Justice. Guests also heard from G. Douglas Jones, a former U.S. attorney who personally led the team of prosecutors and investigators in the re-opened historic “cold case” of the 1963 bombing of the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham.
