Council for Judicial Appointments Sends 3 Names to Gov. Haslam for Circuit Court Opening in 1st District

The Governor’s Council for Judicial Appointments met on May 4, 2015 in Johnson City to hold a public hearing and conduct interviews of candidates for the impending circuit court vacancy in the 1st Judicial District, which serves Carter, Johnson, Unicoi, and Washington counties.

After interviewing the candidates and conducting a vote, the Council has submitted the following three as nominees to Gov. Bill Haslam for the vacancy:

Jerome Cochran
Elizabethton

James Edwin Lauderback
Johnson City

Lois Bunton Shults-Davis
Unicoi

The vacancy has been created by the announcement that the Honorable Thomas J. Seeley, Jr. is retiring effective June 30, 2015.
