Commission Advances 3 Names to Gov. Haslam for Chancellor Opening in Shelby County

The Governor’s Commission on Judicial Appointments met on September 10, 2014 in Memphis to hold a public hearing and conduct interviews of candidates for the Chancellor vacancy in the 30th Judicial District.

After interviewing the candidates and conducting a vote, the Commission has submitted the following three as nominees to Gov. Bill Haslam for the vacancy:

Oscar C. Carr, III

James Robert Newsom, III

William Michael Richards

The vacancy was created by the appointment of Chancellor Kenny Armstrong to the Tennessee Court of Appeals effective September 1.
