Gov. Haslam to Perform Judge Bivins' Supreme Court Investiture July 16

Court of Criminal Appeals Judge Jeffrey S. Bivins will be sworn in as a justice of the Tennessee Supreme Court Wednesday, July 16 at the Franklin Theatre in downtown Franklin. Gov. Bill Haslam will perform the ceremony.

The ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. at Franklin Theatre, 419 Main Street, Franklin. A reception will follow.

Judge Bivins was appointed to the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals in 2011. He also served as a Circuit Court Judge in the 21st Judicial District, was Assistant Commissioner and General Counsel in the Tennessee Department of Personnel, and was in private practice with Boult, Cummings, Conners & Berry in Nashville.

Judge Bivins is taking the seat on the court of Justice William Koch, who retires July 15 to become dean of the Nashville School of Law.
