Written Exam
Only those candidates who have taken an approved Ethics & Skill Building Workshop on record with the AOC are eligible to sit for the written examination.  If you have previously taken the examination, one year must have elapsed between your previous testing session.

Spanish Oral Exam
The Tennessee State Court Interpreter Credentialing Program is pleased to announce that you now have a choice as to which day of the week you would prefer to take the oral examination required for certification as a court interpreter by Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 42. The exam will be offered on all weekdays during the weeks of August 4-8 and November 10-14. You may also select a time to take the exam on any day of these weeks, beginning at 9:00 am and ending at 4:00 pm.

Oral Exam in Languages other than Spanish (LOS)
The Tennessee State Court Interpreter Credentialing Program is pleased to announce that the oral examination for languages other than Spanish, required for certification as a court interpreter by Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 42, will be administered the week of September 1-5.  The examination will be offered in Arabic, Cantonese, French, Haitian-Creole, Hmong, Korean, Laotian, Mandarin Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, Somali, and Vietnamese.  A combined Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian examination will also be offered.

The oral examination for languages other than Spanish is offered to candidates possessing “registered” court interpreter designation pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 42.
