Phillip Robinson

Circuit Court Judge

Phillip Robinson is a graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law. He practiced almost exclusively in the area of divorce and family law for thirty-six years prior to his appointment to the bench of the Third Circuit Court by Governor Haslam in March of 2012.  Third Circuit Court is one of Davidson County=s two family law courts.  He was subsequently elected by popular vote to the bench in August, 2012.  He has served as Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Domestic Relations Committee of the Nashville Bar Association and is a member of both the Nashville and Tennessee Bar Associations.  As an attorney, he helped draft changes in domestic legislation and testified before various legislative committees on new domestic legislation. He is a frequent speaker at seminars dealing with divorce and family law.   He is a Board Certified Family Law Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He has a preeminent AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell and is listed in Best Lawyers in America and Mid-South Super Lawyers.
